About

One of the great crimes of 70's live albums was this release from Foghat; the double-disc live album was 'in vogue' via the likes of excellent live collections from Kiss, Peter Frampton, Ted Nugent, et al. Foghat had a vast collection of great songs to compile a worthwhile 2-disc set, but decided on this one-disc taster...what were they thinking? Where's 'Driving Wheel'? Where's 'Eight Days On The Road'? Where's 'Fly By Night'? Where's 'What A Shame'? Where the heck is the 2nd disc? And on this disc...only 6 freaking songs! Oh...but the songs just KICK, don't they? Let's face it folks...Foghat's early records sound like they were recorded in a cardboard box...on this disc, they come ALIVE! It's too bad that the only songs you ever hear from these guys are Slow Ride, Fool For The City, and, if radio stations want to get 'daring' you'll get I Just Wanna Make Love To You. Because 'Home In My Hand' and 'Road Fever' just plain out smoke on this platter...'Honey Hush' is speed-boogie deluxe...there have been some post-breakup live releases from Foghat, but this album was a glorious missed opportunity...play it loud, play it often, and RIP Dave Peverett...may you sing in heaven.
