About
As The-Dream, Terius Nash spares no detail on these immaculately crafted mini-suites about love, lust, heartbreak, and everything in between. “F.I.L.A.” is the kind of bright, punch-drunk modern doo-wop Nash does best, while the delicate, piano-driven “February Love” has the lothario at his most vulnerable. And then there’s “Yamaha,” the pinnacle of his Prince worship and one of his best songs ever. Throughout, his synths gleam like platinum and his hi-hats are diamond-hard; Love King is as opulent as R&B gets.
