About
On their 15th album, English doom goths Paradise Lost return to their roots: Vocalist Nick Holmes resurrects his long-lost, death-metal growl to complement his stentorian baritone. With their heaviest album in well over a decade, Holmes and his mates—most of whom have been in Paradise Lost since the band’s 1988 inception—deliver majestic guitar melodies and crushing slow-mo riffs on “From the Gallows,” opener “Fearless Sky,” and the epic, soaring title track.
