Mole City by Quasi

Mole City is an Alt/Indie album by Quasi, originally released in 2013. On Gatefold: 8 pressings tracked.

About

These Portland indie rock veterans have tried to pack prog-sized ambition into punk-duo proportions before, but this 24-song double album counts as the most audacious entry in their dense discography. While there’s no lack of Quasi’s patented organ-driven fuzz pop here (see: “You Can Stay But You Gotta Go”), the wider canvas also accommodates piercing electro-drones (“Chrome Duck”), synth-spiked psychedelia (“Gnot”), and freaky folk (“R.I.P.”). But the madcap milieu also yields serene, sobering turns, like the bitterly unsentimental ballad “Chumps of Chance.”
