Necropolitan is a Metal album by Green Lung, originally released in 2026.
About
At the intersection of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Iron Maiden, there is Green Lung. The English stoner troupe’s fourth album combines their musical influences with their keen interest in British occultists Percy Bysshe Shelley, Aleister Crowley, and Genesis P-Orridge (among others). “Black Magic Radio” fuses a Sabbathian riff to a haunted-house organ accompaniment while vocalist Tom Templar namechecks the Process Church and London’s Swinging ‘60s horror-themed café, Le Macabre. “Necropolitan Line” is a hectic heavy-’70s freakout with lyrics about the defunct Necropolis Railway, which ferried corpses and mourners between London and Surrey. Lead single “Evil in this House” imagines a paranormal investigation set to an epic Jon Lord/Tony Iommi jam. In a direct reference to Maiden’s “The Number of the Beast,” Green Lung brings in Riley Pinkerton of Castle Rat to read a passage from the Book of Revelation on “Alostrael (Be My Babalon).”
