Mixing global funk and dance music with the seductive dread of psychedelic rock, <i>Oh Death</i> should be comfort food for anyone into the worlds of reissue labels and rare groove, but it also sharpens the teeth on an aesthetic that, in modern contexts, is often presented as bohemian background music—stuff that sounds cool but not much else.
