Originally released on Effective Records, the 12-inch single contained the original, instrumental version (The Naked Mix) along with Darren Emerson's remix (his first remix). The 1992 release was a notable success in underground dance clubs, and had some success in UK Singles Chart (no.29). 'Passion' is one of the first songs to be referred to as 'progressive house'. Nick Warren has described the single as one of the first to create a distinctive British house sound.
Passion (Of Your Passion) first appeared on the Logic Records release in 1992 and was also featured on the Flying Records, On The Beat and Buzz releases. Juana Volkers provided the vocals.
In 1994, DJ Mervyn Victor (who worked at Paul For Music) released Degrees Of Passion (UK 1994) (opens in a new tab). This was originally a live bootleg he created using the acapella of Degrees Of Motion 'Do You Want It Right Now?' over the Naked Mix of 'Passion'.
Due to the huge popularity of the 'Degrees Of Passion' bootleg, the track was re-vocalised by Beverley Skeete and re-released in 1996 on Way Of Life as 'Passion' (Do You Want It Right Now Mix).
