Rocka Rolla by Judas Priest

Rocka Rolla is a Rock album by Judas Priest, originally released in 1974. On Gatefold: 154 pressings tracked, owned by 16 collectors.

About

Judas Priest’s debut gets some of its sludgy gloom from early Black Sabbath producer Rodger Bain. The proggy title track is built from a doom-laden funk groove that’s as persistent as a metronome, while “Dying to Meet You” is downright funereal, with Rob Halford moaning like the devil over massive blues riffs. The band kick into high gear on a galloping version of Joan Baez’s “Diamonds and Rust,” laying groundwork for the tight, assaultive metal that dominates their later records.
