About
SBTRKT frames <i>SAVE YOURSELF</i> in terms of oppositions: today's environmental catastrophes versus tomorrow's space colonies. Fittingly, the album flits between twin poles of despair and what he calls "dark optimism," contrasting the evil, skulking techno of "LET THEM IN" with whimsical, organ-kissed funk tracks "GEMINI" and "READY OR NOT." Auto-Tuned crooner The-Dream provides the album's conflicted emotional center: He radiates joy on "GOOD MORNING," a tender love song to the human race, but on the somber "BURY YOU," he gives chills with a simple question: "How does it feel to be gone?"
