Shades Of Black ist das Debutalbum von Sharon Kovac, einer niederländischen Soul- und Jazzsängerin, das am 2. April 2015 veröffentlicht wurde. Voher erschienen bereits die Songs "Song For Joel", "My Love" und "Diggin'" als Singel. Am 15. November 2015 wurde dann auch noch "Wolf In Cheap Clothes" als Single ausgekoppelt. Mit ihrer dunkelen, rauchigen Stimme machte die damals 25-jährige Kovacs einen erstaunlich sebstsicheren Eindruck und erinnert unwillkürlich an großartige Sängerinnen wie Anastacia, Macy Gray oder Grace Jone. Kovacs selbst scheint sich, wie in "Diggin'" zu hören auf Ella Fitzgerald und weitere zu beziehen: "Sorry baby I'm gone diggin' | From Mina to Ella| Ella to Bessy| Bessy to Atack and Merela with me." Schon mit dem Opener "50 Shades Of Black" entführt uns die Sängerin in die Welt potentieller James Bond Filmmusiken. Diese Stimmung hält das Album erfreulicherweise bis zum letzten Stück (Song for Joel) durch. Zweifelsfrei gehört "Shades of Black" zu den hörenswertesten Alben des Jahres 2015. .
