This record, released in the mid-80's, by multi-talented singer / producer/ songwriter Angela Winbush, who took her career a step farther from being part of a duo with Rene Moore (Rene and Angela), and unleashed a great solo effort, praised by critics -- sales were marginal, but this thing should have been a monster. She wrote the songs;;she produced the songs and boy, did she sing these songs! The album contains one of the greatest female vocals ever recorded in the classic quiet storm track, "Angel". The songs were personal and introspective. MCA Records probably did all they could on the R&B front marketing this artist; however, this is a testament to the power of a woman who is multi-talented and powerful. She went on to produce some great songs for the likes of the Isley Brothers (she was once married to Ronald Isley), Stephanie Mills, Sheena Easton, Lalah Hathaway and the sister group Body. A great classic album with some staggering vocal moments.
