British electronic musician Bibio (a.k.a. Stephen Wilkinson) returns with his seventh LP, <i>Silver Wilkinson</i>. The album is a stylistic nod to an earlier and more guitar-focused era of Bibio’s sound, particularly compared to the electronic orientation of his preceding album, <i>Mind Bokeh</i>. Bibio brings that analog finesse back and melts it beautifully with his signature woodsy guitars. <i>Silver Wilkinson</i> warbles its way through states of expertly-constructed pop (“À tout à l'heure” and “You”) and hazy, nostalgic ambiance (“Dye the Water Green,” “You Won’t Remember”). <i>Silver Wilkinson</i> is richly atmospheric, easy to get lost in, and highly enjoyable front to back.
