About
Sittin’ Heavy is the total package: gale-force howls, hairy riffs wedding ’70s rock and grunge, and grooves that rumble down the highway like, well, monster trucks. Best of all, the band’s songwriting reflects serious range. “Don’t Tell Me How to Live” is pure thunder swagger thickened with Deep Purple-style organ, while “For the People” is a funky, blue-collar anthem featuring shout-along vocals suffused with heartland twang. On the closing “Enjoy the Time,” Monster Truck turn into ace balladeers, delivering a soulful meditation on living for the good times because life is too short.
