Brutal breakdowns, jackhammer tempos and lacerating guitar work are counterpointed against the mighty one/two punch of Ryan Kirby’s harsh vocals and Bobby Lynge’s clean singing. <i>Slave to Nothing</i> is particularly impressive lyrically, with “A Greater Sense of Self” and the title tune striking deep chords of Christian sacrifice and redemption. Sonically ferocious tracks like “Kill the Pain,” “Forever Unbroken” and “Imposter” exalt the Creator with savage hosannas.
