About

Smile (stylized as SMiLE) is an album by The Beach Boys recorded throughout 1966 and 1967. The project was intended by its principal creator Brian Wilson as the follow-up to Pet Sounds, but was never completed or released in its original form. A replacement album, Smiley Smile was released in its place in 1967. Wilson released his own version of the album in 2004, Brian Wilson Presents Smile. Smile was long regarded as the most famous unreleased album of all time. In 2011, a reconstructed version of the album, along with many of the existing sessions, was released as The Smile Sessions, over 43 years after the project was originally scheduled to be released.
