Though sometimes their trips take darker turn, as on 2018’s <i>Panic Blooms</i>, the Pennsylvania-based act’s seventh album <i>Soft New Magic Dream</i> returns to a more blissed-out environment. Here, lead vocalist Thomas Fec, also known as Tobacco, returns from making left-field hip-hop with Aesop Rock as Malibu Ken and composing video game soundtracks with a brand-new love burrowing into his frontal lobe. .
