Supply And Demand is a Country album by Amos Lee, originally released in 2006. On Gatefold: 17 pressings tracked.

About

As he proved on his impressive self-titled debut, Amos Lee knows how to craft a song, and his silky-smooth voice is mighty easy on the ears. Sticking to the formula that made his first album a hit, he offers another collection of solid songs filled with juicy hooks and sweet melodies. He’s supported by a competent, if contained, backing band that perfectly complements the album’s mostly mellow mood. The difference this time is in the lyrics. There’s a weight and depth to the words that reflects Lee’s maturity and, at times, weariness. He makes some keen observations about himself and the world around him, as reflected in lines such as “freedom is seldom found/by beating someone to the ground,” and “the more I strive/the less I’m alive/and it seems I’m getting further away.” While certainly heavy on ballads, the album does include some smoky, slow-burning soul, as on “Freedom” and “Truth,” the catchy tune that closes the album. Supply & Demand is a fine follow-up that should help Lee earn the wide recognition he deserves.
