About
Charting the Scorps’ pop-metal phase in the ’80s and early ’90s, this collection enshrines the Germans’ gift for massive riffs and dramatic choruses. “Rock You Like a Hurricane” is an ode to both headbanging and lovemaking that unleashes waves of hot licks and virile howls, and the equally muscular anthem “Big City Nights” chronicles heavy metal party life with epic storytelling. Even “Wind of Change,” a tender power ballad that bottles the euphoria swirling around the end of the Cold War, is larger than life.
