The Lioness by Songs: Ohia

The Lioness is an Alt/Indie album by Songs: Ohia, originally released in 2000. On Gatefold: 24 pressings tracked, owned by 13 collectors.

About

The desolation of the indie rock classic The Lioness is dangerous and pure. Jason Molina’s profoundly human fourth album as Songs: Ohia is a stark, bleak document full of sparse guitar arrangements, cutting lyrics, and masterful pacing. The slow burn of “The Black Crow” grates and feels almost frozen, while “Being in Love” is a cautionary tale in the guise of a love song. Members of the Scottish slowcore outfit Arab Strap help fill out the wintery orchestration of tracks like “Tigress.”
