About
Led by vocalist Jonny Hawkins, San Antonio’s Nothing More play active, radio-friendly rock with big commercial hooks. On The Stories We Tell Ourselves, songs like “Let ’em Burn,” “The Great Divorce,” and the anthemic “Go to War” combine progressive nu-metal riffs with electronic adornment and a definite pop sensibility. “Ripping Me Apart” rides an angular, Rage Against the Machine-style groove into the hip-hop beats and hard funk of “Don’t Stop,” while closer “Fadein/Fadeout” examines the cycle of life and death with soaring choruses.
