'The Universe Also Collapses' is the sound of Gong in 2019, as vanguards of 21st century psychedelia; propulsive, mystical and ecstatic.
Gong have evolved with an intriguing new model for band longevity. Rather than groups facing the prospect of merely becoming a tribute act to themselves, renewal and regeneration is made possible. Founding elders that are willing to pass the baton on to younger players who don’t just knock out the old standards, but embrace the spirit and philosophy that fuelled the original band in the first place. Daevid Allen planned this for Gong, and the result is this release.
