About
Jonathan Winters was the quintessential comedian’s comedian, and this 1960 album makes the reasons blazingly clear. Winters brings to bear such an overwhelming flow of wild, freewheeling ideas, he’s like an entire comedy troupe rolled into one. His gift for inhabiting a broad spectrum of quirky characters serves him well, whether he’s uproariously redefining Robin Hood, unreeling a wickedly witty, one-man satire of an old-school Western movie, or giving voice to a hick hilariously recounting his UFO sightings.
