This Fire is Paula Cole's second album. It was released in October of 1996 to great critical and commercial success. Cole wrote and produced the album herself, recording all tracks in approximately two weeks. The album peaked at #20 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart. It has been certified double platinum in the United States. Two singles from the album were given an official release. The first single was "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?," which peaked at #8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #15 on the UK Official charts. Follow-up single, "I Don't Want to Wait," peaked.
