About

Released just months after On the Threshold of a Dream, The Moody Blues' fifth album was the flagship release on their own Threshold label, and the band sound like they're reveling in newfound freedom. The spacy tracks are spacier (see the experimentally inclined instrumental "Beyond") and the rocking moments are harder-hitting, with guitarist Justin Hayward delivering a few of his boldest riffs. The dreamy melodies and heaven-bound harmonies that are the band's signature are in greater abundance than ever. This expansive outing became a key part of the canon of this quintessential "album band."
