Oldfield—a prodigious talent who wrote his first songs at the age of nine—plays 20 instruments throughout, including the titular bells, and the scope is staggering. Spanish guitar flickers, ambient moments materialise, and it all builds to a finger-plucked, deliciously proggy finale.
