The San Francisco touring giant’s 12th album is full of melodic explorations, arguably more than usual for the headbanging, hip-hop-sampling producer-DJ who came up in death metal but got hooked on electronic music’s explosive energy. It’s also satisfyingly well-rounded, with party-starters like “TKO (feat. Rye Rye & Zion 1),” trippy, twinkling songs like “Paracosm,” featuring The Glitch Mob, and “Unlimited Combinations,” a rollercoaster of rumbling bass that’s sure to please his hardcore fans who follow him from festival to festival like this generation’s Deadheads.
