Watch the Throne is a collaborative studio album by American rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West. It was released on August 8, 2011, through Roc-A-Fella Records, Roc Nation, and Def Jam Recordings. Prior to this release, the duo had collaborated on various singles, with West also serving as a producer on Jay-Z’s projects. Initially planned as a five-song EP, the project expanded into a full-length album. The album features guest appearances from Frank Ocean, The-Dream, Beyoncé, and Mr Hudson, alongside posthumous vocals by soul legends Otis Redding and Curtis Mayfield.
