“Zion” is the third studio album by Australian worship band Hillsong United, released on February 22, 2013. It marked a significant evolution in the band’s sound, blending contemporary worship with ambient and electronic elements. The album’s themes revolve around faith, grace, and spiritual reflection. One of the standout tracks, “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail),” led by Taya Smith, achieved remarkable success. It spent a record 61 non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart and was certified quadruple platinum in the U.S. Billboard recognized it as the No. 1 Christian song of the 2010s decade. Zion debuted at No. 1 on the Australian Albums Chart and No. 5 on the US Billboard 200, making it Hillsong United’s highest-charting album at the time. It also topped the US Christian Albums chart. The album has been certified gold in both Australia and the United States. Following the success of Zion, Hillsong United released Zion Acoustic Sessions on October 29, 2013. This album features acoustic versions of the original tracks and was made available exclusively on iTunes. It reached No. 4 on the Top Christian Albums chart and No. 25 on the Top Digital Albums chart in the U.S. In 2023, the band released Zion (X), a comprehensive collection featuring 63 tracks, including live performances and remixes, offering an expansive look at the album’s impact and evolution.
