Biography
American cornet player (1869-1959).
Bert Brown gained a national reputation as a great “first chair” cornetist. He played with Arthur Pryor's Band and Sousa's Band and he was also a cornet soloist along with Pryor and Sousa. He played with Louis F Boos Band from 1887-89. He also played with the Official World's Fair Band at the Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 and at the World's Fair in St. Louis in 1904. He was a partner in the Dixie Music House Publishing Company in New Orleans and was an assistant solo cornet player with John Philip Sousa's Band from 1917-18.
