Biography

British guitar player
Born: December 18, 1958 in County Durham, England, UK.
Died: November 26, 2023 in Prague, Czech Republic.
Kevin "Geordie" Walker was an influential British guitarist known for his unique and hypnotic playing style. His nickname "Geordie" was a nod to his roots in the North-East of England, specifically County Durham. Walker emerged as a key figure in the music scene as one of the four original members of Killing Joke, a band that significantly impacted the gothic rock and dark wave genres starting in 1979.
Walker was famous for his use of the golden hollow-bodied Gibson ES-295 guitars, which were produced between 1952 and 1959, becoming an integral part of his musical identity. His distinctive playing style was essential to Killing Joke's success and their lasting influence in the music industry. In addition to his work with Killing Joke, Walker engaged in various musical projects during the band's hiatuses. He lived in different locations over the years, including Detroit, Michigan, and eventually settled in Prague in 2006.
Walker passed away in 2023 in Prague following a stroke.
