Debuted on record at the age of 8 in a duet with her father, band leader Otto Hænning, with the song that became a national hit in Denmark.
As a teenager she started parallel careers in Denmark, Sweden and Germany, gradually making Germany her prime market and home, though she still released records and appeared in movies in Denmark.
Represented Germany in the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Junger Tag (Germany 1973) (opens in a new tab).
