American actress and singer, born 25 February 1925 in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, USA, died 11 November 1990 in New York City, New York, USA.
She was married to songwriter Robert Wells from 1949 until her death in 1990.
She was noted for her comedic talents and rich contralto. She dubbed the singing voice of Rosalind Russell in the 1962 film "Gypsy" and it's soundtrack (Gypsy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (US 2003) (opens in a new tab)) though at the time, her vocal contribution went uncredited.
