Biography

Swedish singer, guitarrist, and band leader, born on May 17, 1934, in Hubbo församling, Hubbo, Västmanland, and passed away on July 14, 2026, in Hägersten, Stockholm, Södermanland.
Little Gerhard, who was born at the Central Hospital in Västerås was at birth registered in Hubbo parish in Hubbo rural municipality, which in 1952 was incorporated into Tillberga, which was incorporated into Västerås in 1967, which became Västerås municipality from 1971, was Sweden's first rock-'n'-roll star.
His third EP, Buona Sera (Sweden 1958) (opens in a new tab), which was released in May 1958, became the best-selling 1950s record in Swedish rock'n'roll and Little Gerhard's first gold record. It was his acclaimed cover of Louis Prima's earlier released version of the song 'Buona Sera' that was the reason for the success.
After being successful in his home country Sweden, Little Gerhard also had chart hits in German speaking countries.
