Biography

British guitarist, singer and songwriter. Born on 1945-12-04 in Gloucester, England. Currently based in Miami, Florida. Allegedly 4th cousin to the famous writer Aldous Huxley.
Huxley started out playing music around 1963 in the Forest of Dean area. His first band was The Vendettas, his second Robb Gayle & The Whirlwinds and his first release came as a member of The Saxons (1964-1965). Having met Joe Meek Huxley also became involved in The Tornados, who had several line-ups.
In 1967 Huxley left the Tornados and in December he went for Israel where he met Stan Solomon and eventually joined Churchill's in Tel Aviv in May of 1968. He remained with the band through various name changes (Jericho Jones (opens in a new tab), Jericho and The New Churchills) and personnel changes until they broke up in 1973. Huxley is best known for his work in Israel and is considered a pioneer of Israeli rock, both for his work with The Churchills and in collaboration with Arik Einstein.
In 1974 he moved to Miami (USA), where he still lives. In 2015 Huxley went back to Israel to take part in the Churchill's reunion concerts. The performances at the Barby Club were released as the album Churchill's Live the following year.
