Born August 05, 1934 in Woodland, Alabama, USA.
Died April 28, 2009, Nashville, Tennessee, USA.

Father of & brother of Rex Gosdin, &.
Vern charted 22 times on the U.S. country charts as a songwriter and 41 tiimes as a singer between 1976-1999. As a singer he had 3 #1 songs, including " I Can Tell By the Way You Dance (You're Gonna Love Me Tonight)" (1984), "Set 'Em Up Joe" (1988), and "I'm Still Crazy" (1989) (the last 2 co-written by him). He aso hit #2 in 1989 with "Who You Gonna Blame It on This Time" (also co-written by him).
Joined the Gosdin Family radio show from Birmingham in the early 1950's. Moved to California in 1960 and formed The Golden State Boys with his brother Rex.
They later recorded together as the Gosdin Brothers.
