Biography
Wayne Montana is a Chicago-based American musician, multi-instrumentalist, and recording engineer active since the late 1980s. He moved from New York to Chicago at the end of 1988 and became involved in the local music scene shortly thereafter. Montana works primarily as a bass player but is also active on guitar and synthesizers, and has contributed to projects as a recording and mixing engineer and DJ. He is best known for his participation in the Chicago group The Eternals, with whom he recorded and performed during the group’s active period, contributing to their blend of post-punk, funk, dub, and experimental rock elements. Over more than 25 years in Chicago, Montana has remained a consistent presence in independent and underground music circles, participating in recordings, live performances, and production work.
