Vocalist, guitarist, pianist and songwriter for The Holmes Brothers. Born December 19, 1943 in Christchurch, Virginia. Died June 19, 2015 in Rosedale, Maryland.
Holmes was an accomplished guitarist, pianist, and singer who released 12 albums as part of The Holmes Brothers-- a family band that included his siblings Sherman and Willie. During their career, the brothers played with greats like Van Morrison, Peter Gabriel, and Willie Nelson, and became legends in their own right for their unique mix of blues, soul, gospel, country, and R&B. Wendell Holmes passed away from complications due to pulmonary hypertension at the age of 71.
