Biography

Japanese electronic music unit founded by Sohichiro Suzuki in 1983. The group incorporates a wide range of music from rock, techno to ambient. Debuted in 1984 with the cassette album "Lé Train Musical (Japan 1984) (opens in a new tab)" produced by Haruomi Hosono. Their self-titled album, "World Standard", released in 1985 on the sub-label Non-Standard, was remastered and reissued under the supervision of Sohichiro Suzuki in 2021. After engaging in other projects, they released the album "World Standard II (Japan 1995) (opens in a new tab)" in 1994 on the label FOA Records. While fundamentally grounded in environmental sounds, their music presents a distinctive, borderless sonic character.
