Twenty years in big tech — Google, Zappos, the works — building ecommerce, receiving systems, and all things digital that scaled to billions of users. The hale time, the part of ma week I actually looked forward to was Saturday at the local shop. I built the consumer side of gatefold.fm because naebody had built the second-screen tool a 600-record collection deserves.
But the apps and tools the shops use? Square disnae ken what a pressing is. Discogs treats sellers like a feature, nae a customer. Shopify is a braw platform but mair than maist indie shops want to maintain. Shops have been stuck choosin' between three half-fits for fifteen years — and naebody who actually loves records had built the missin' piece.
