Gatefold Store turns a crate of records into a priced, scannable catalog and a real register — from a folding table at the fair to a full digital storefront. You handle the records. It handles the rest.
★ Beta pricing: the first 10 sellers ride free — then just $10/mo.
The pricing, the tagging, the till, the taxes. Gatefold Store quietly takes the paperwork so you can get back to the bins.
Import your Discogs inventory in one tap, or scan a stack with your phone. Covers, pressings and grades fill themselves in.
Live Discogs market price by grade, plus eBay & Discogs sold-price research. Stop pricing records in your head.
Print barcode tags, then scan to ring it up — music or not. Take card, tap, cash, Venmo or PayPal.
Every sale logged. Day, week and month totals, year-end sales tax, clean exports for QuickBooks & TurboTax.
Scan-in, the label printer, the register, the wall. Here's what each screen actually does when you hit the green button — and what your customer gets out of it.
Point a scanner at the barcode and you get the pressing, not just the title — 1979 US Columbia, matrix A1/B2, gatefold sleeve — with the other candidates listed underneath in case yours is the UK one. Pick the copy that's in your hand and the market range comes with it; SKU, cost, price and bin fill themselves in. Sealed and preorder stock skip grading entirely.
Print the tag and the QR square on it is a real page for that copy — the pressing story, the grade you gave it, your price. A customer scans the sticker in the aisle with their own phone and gets the whole story with no Discogs comps and no reason to walk out the door. Standard, grail and dollar-bin templates, and a switch to print no QR at all if that's not your shop.
Pair a Square Terminal and ring it up — tap, chip, cash, gift card — with the sales tax already on the ticket. The cart doesn't care what it's selling: a first-press Aja, a dollar-bin sleeve, a shop tee. And when somebody's short today, put it on hold — seven days behind the counter with their name on it.
In stock, on hold, preordered, sold — filter to any of them, or straight to the records somebody's already waiting on.
Point it at your Discogs seller account or drop a spreadsheet in. Nothing lands in your inventory until you've looked at the matches.
Name the bucket — $1 Saturday, $5 CD wall — set the price, print one sticker and scan that same sticker all day. No grading, no SKU per record.
Flip your inventory public and it becomes a real page: New Arrivals up front, a Grail Wall behind it, your hours and address straight off Google, and the markup search engines need to file you as a record shop instead of a mystery. Every QR you print lands a phone right here.

Request a quote →Twenty years in big tech — Google, Zappos, the works — building ecommerce, receiving systems, and all things digital that scaled to billions of users. The whole time, the part of my week I actually looked forward to was Saturday at the local shop. I built the consumer side of gatefold.fm because nobody had built the second-screen tool a 600-record collection deserves.
But the apps and tools the shops use? Square doesn't know what a pressing is. Discogs treats sellers like a feature, not a customer. Shopify is a great platform but more than most indie shops want to maintain. Shops have been stuck choosing between three half-fits for fifteen years — and nobody who actually loves records had built the missing piece.
If you run a shop and you've ever cursed at a Square dashboard at midnight trying to figure out which Aja you sold — email me. We'll fix it.
