Biography

Mános Loïzos was a Cypriot (of Greek origin) composer, lyricist and singer. Born 22 October 1937 in Alexandria, Egypt - Died 17 September 1982 in Moscow, USSR.
He was a founding member and vice-president of the "Σύλλογος Φίλων Ελληνικής Μουσικής" (= Association of Friends of Greek Music) from its founding in April 1962 until its dissolution in 1967. His December 1968 album, Ο Σταθμός, was the first to be released by the -then- newly established label, bearing the cat# MSM 101. In 1971, he became a founding member, becoming its president in 1978.
In March 1965, he married his first wife,, who gave birth to their daughter in 1966. In 1971, he got acquainted with his future wife whom he married in 1978.
Αχιλλέας Θεοφίλου's & Χάρις Αλεξίου's adopted son,, was named after him.
