Biography
Showing the Discogs bio
Clydie King (born 21 August 1943, Dallas, Texas, USA – died 7 January 2019, Monrovia, California, USA) was an American singer and vocalist. She is best remembered for her session work which spanned some of the most influential recordings of the 1960s and 1970s.
King provided backing vocals for Humble Pie, which achieved great popularity in the United States, and went on to become an in-demand session singer, working with Venetta Fields and Sherlie Matthews. She recorded with B.B. King, The Rolling Stones, Steely Dan, Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, Linda Ronstadt, Joe Cocker, Dickey Betts, Joe Walsh, and many others. She was a member of The Blackberries with Fields and Matthews and sang on Joe Cocker's Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour, which was made into a feature film.
“She was my ultimate singing partner. No one ever came close. We were two soul mates.” - Bob Dylan
