Biography
American photographer. She was born in Cranston, Rhode Island on Oct 17, 1951 and moved to New York in the mid-1970s, where she continues to live and work. While working with Magnum Photos during that decade, she began to immerse in the world of jazz. The photographs that she made in 1980 for the recording sessions of Steve Reich's Octet ∙ Music For A Large Ensemble ∙ Violin Phase (Germany 1980) (opens in a new tab) (ECM 1168) represent valuable visual documentation, enabling the viewer to closely observe and reconstruct the process creating a landmark in minimalist music.
