Married to coloratura soprano singer Loulie Jean Norman (divorced). Married to singer Beverly Jenkins.
Worked: Isham Jones, Paul Whiteman, Benny Goodman, Lennie Heyton, for Paramount Pictures, NBC (in Hollywood) and Decca.
He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1982.
