<i>From Here to Now to You</i> finds inspiration in everything from the ordinary (“Washing Dishes”) to the ephemeral (“You Remind Me of You”). Now and again, Johnson’s band digs in with a buoyant, self-assured, <i>slightly</i> funky backbeat (“Shot Reverse Shot,” “Radiate”) but the songwriter’s most affecting moments are in delicately constructed ballads with a twilit feel, like “Never Fade” and the album’s closer, “Home.”
