Jump (For My Love)

For this and all other Planet label releases (and many other CBS affiliated releases in this era), the year in the ℗ copyright notice often only indicates when the original version was released; it is not a reliable indicator of release dates for these records.
The original 1983 LP version, titled just "Jump", runs 4:22. A remixed version from 1984, titled "Jump (For My Love)" later replaced the album version and runs 4:26. The single version from 1984 runs 4:00 and is very similar to the 4:26 remix.
Comparing the album versions, the remix can be spotted by:
• EQ'd such that the chorusing on the closed hi-hats in the intro is more noticeable
• EQ'd & mixed such that the snare has a louder and less natural sound
• Extra ratta-tat-tat snare hits added starting at 3:19 (right before the key change) and at several other points thereafter
• At 3:33 the synth pads and melodic stabs drop out so the vocal is more emphasized
• At 4:11 the vocal goes "yeah, yeah, you know I gotta jump" instead of getting a bass synth flourish and "oo-oo-oo yeah come on"
• Remainder of the ad-libbed vocals is different as the song fades out, and the fade-out is longer/more gentle
The 4:00 single version is almost the same, but shortens the intro to 2 bars instead of 4. At 3:29, where the synth pads would have dropped out, the song continues with the same ending as the 1983 LP version, but with the remixed & extra snare hits added.
