Turn your Shopify store into a proper record shop.
Gatefold fills in the part collectors actually read — the pressing, the year, the label and catalogue number, what is scratched in the deadwax, the tracklist, the cover art — on every listing. Scan the barcode or pick the pressing yourself, against 15 million of them. Then it drops record-store shelves right on your storefront.

★ Free plan: 50 records, fully enriched. No card, no catch.
A record on a bare Shopify page is a title, a price, and a shrug. Collectors want what they would read on the sleeve and in the deadwax — label, catalogue number, country, year, matrix — without opening five tabs. We built this because we read run-out grooves for fun. Your listings shouldn’t be a shrug.
Four jobs. Zero typing.
Everything a record store has to write out by hand — the app already knows.
Run the barcode queue
Press it once. It works through every barcoded record in your catalogue on our servers — close the tab and go back to the counter — then writes the pressing details, tracklist, and front and rear cover art onto your own products. It is a pressing database, not a chatbot.
Name the exact pressing
Journey In Satchidananda has been pressed more than thirty times. Exact pick lists every one we hold — year, country, label, Cat №, and the matrix scratched into the run-out groove — with your most expensive unmatched records first. You choose. Nothing is guessed on the records that carry the price.
Bring the stock over
Import from Gatefold pushes for-sale stock you already keep in a Gatefold console into your store as live, enriched products — your Discogs shelf reaching Shopify without the re-typing. There is no Discogs login here, and nothing gets delisted behind your back.
Dress the storefront
Zero-code widgets you add in the theme editor: Pressing Details and Tracklist on every product page, a Grail Wall and New Arrivals on the homepage. Real record-store furniture, no developer.
Bare listing → back of the sleeve.
Same product page, before and after Gatefold. This is the money shot.

The questions you’d actually ask.
What does it cost?
Two plans. Crate is free and covers 50 enriched records — not a countdown, and they don’t expire. Storefront is $49/month for unlimited enriched records, with a 14-day free trial. Everything else — the collector fields, the theme blocks, the barcode queue, the pressing picker — is on both. No per-record fee and no commission on your sales.
Can the app see my customers or my orders?
No. It asks for three permissions and none of them is a customer, order or payment permission: read_products to read the catalogue it is describing, write_products to write the pressing details onto your own products, and write_inventory to set stock on records its own import lane creates. So it holds no customer data and no order data — a consequence of that list, not a promise about our conduct. Check it yourself on the permission screen before you install.
Will it change products I already wrote?
It adds its details below whatever you wrote — your own description text is never edited or removed. What it writes is the spec block and tracklist, tags, and front and rear cover art, on records it matched. It does not touch your prices and it does not reprice anything. A record it cannot identify is left exactly as it was: nothing written, nothing flagged, no placeholder on your storefront.
What happens when I hit the free 50?
New enrichment stops and the console tells you. Nothing already written is removed, hidden, watermarked or degraded, and those 50 stay enriched whatever you decide to do next — including uninstalling. The count is of records currently enriched: records that came back with no match never counted, and re-enriching one to correct a wrong pressing doesn’t count again. Fixing a mistake is always free, even at the cap.
Which themes do the storefront blocks work with?
Any Online Store 2.0 theme — that is every current theme. Vintage themes from before 2021 cannot place app blocks. There is no code to paste and no developer needed: in the theme editor it is Add section → Apps → Gatefold, then drag and save. Four blocks ship — Pressing Details and Tracklist for product pages, Grail Wall and New Arrivals for your home page.
Why does the exact pressing matter?
Every pressing of an album shares the album’s name, so a name can find the record but not the copy. A 1971 Impulse! original and a 2023 reissue have the same artist and the same title and nothing else in common — different plant, different catalogue number, different sleeve, ten times the price. The picker is where you settle it: every pressing we hold, oldest first, each row showing year, country, label, Cat № and the matrix scratched into the run-out groove. “LP, $34” tells a collector nothing, so they either ask or they don’t buy.
Stop typing catalog numbers.
Install Gatefold, scan a record, and watch a bare listing turn into the back of the sleeve.
