The four CarPlay tabs
A car screen gives you four tabs, so each one has a job. Know the jobs and you tap less at a red light.
Why isn't Gatefold on my car's screen?
- On your iPhone: Settings > General > CarPlay.
- Tap your car and make sure Gatefold is on the screen, not in the hidden list.
- Unplug and plug back in, or reconnect wireless CarPlay.
Still not there? Force-quit Gatefold on the phone, open it once, and reconnect. The same steps are in the Help Center.
What's on the Clerk tab?
- Talk to the Clerk is first. The mic only opens when you tap it.
- Under it, Put something on has the ready-made sets (next guide).
What's on the Spin tab?
- Today's Spin of the Day first, then picks for you.
- If a set is paused, there's a Resume the set row.
What's on the Shelf tab?
- Your shelves, the records inside them, and your playlists.
- For right now and Last Added as cover strips on iOS 26 and newer, with Grails next to them. On older iOS they're plain rows.
- Tap a record and it plays. No talking needed.
What's on the Now tab?

What does Love this do?
It's in the 3-dot menu on CarPlay's Now Playing screen: Love this. Spin of the Day then knows you loved it, and a record you don't own goes on your wantlist. It isn't a rating. Tap it again the same day to undo it.
