Put something on: the CarPlay sets

On the Clerk tab, Put something on is a strip of sets built from your own shelf. One tap starts one.

What does each set play?

  • Adaptive Drive: follows how you're driving.
  • 7 Degrees of Connection: records chained by a shared credit, and the Clerk tells you the link between each one. The chain ends; it doesn't run forever.
  • Random Banger: one killer album, picked at random from the widely acclaimed ones on your shelf.
  • High Energy: the fast end of your shelf, a random setlist above a tempo floor.
  • Low Energy: the slow end.
  • How You Feel (full name Tell the Clerk how you're feeling): say the mood out loud. It's a voice turn, not a set it builds.
  • Deep Cuts: album tracks and B-sides, nothing that charted.

Where does the music come from?

Records you own, played on your connected Apple Music. The same sets are on the phone in the Driving page.

Which sets cost a quarter?

Free accounts get 15 quarters a month, and building a set costs 1.

  • Free, no quarter: Random Banger, High Energy, Low Energy, and "More from this artist". The first of these plays straight from your shelf, with nothing generated.
  • 1 quarter each on a free account: Adaptive Drive, 7 Degrees, Deep Cuts, and a mood set built by voice.
  • A refill costs a quarter whatever set it follows, even the free ones.
  • Out of quarters: the Clerk says so out loud. No error.
  • MOSH: no meter.
