What the Clerk can do, and Clerk playlists
The Clerk works from your actual shelf instead of guessing, and can do a few things for you. Ask in plain words.
What can the Clerk look up?
- Your shelf and wantlist: "anything I own that Rick Rubin produced?"
- Credits on a record, from your own pressing.
- Your spin history, recent or most played.
- Upcoming shows near your saved places by artists you own, and shows you logged.
- New and upcoming releases, for artists you own or the whole feed.
- How the app works: the Clerk can look up Gatefold's own help.
What can I ask the Clerk to do?
- Walk a credit chain from an album, or find the shortest one between two records you own.
- Add a record to your wantlist, only after you say yes.
- Put a record on a shelf or take it off. Name a new shelf and the Clerk creates it.
- Plan a record-store tour.
Where do Clerk playlists go?
Ask for a playlist and the Clerk mixes records you own with ones you don't, up to 30 albums, and saves it. They're on the Shelf's Playlists tab. Each card plays, can be pushed to Apple Music if you've connected it, can be sent to Tidal if you have that, and can be deleted.
What does MOSH add?
- Collection value. Ask what your shelf or one record is worth and the Clerk answers from Discogs prices. A free account gets one plain line saying that's a MOSH thing, and no price is looked up.
- Everything else above is free. The only limit is the chat session you're already in.
